Falling Paper, Flying Insects, and Kinetic Mobiles

Tuesday, June 12, 7pm

Physicists Jane Wang and Werner Sun will discuss their fascination with the movement of all things, from falling leaves and seeds to flying insects and kinetic mobiles. They will show how science and art can be inspired by the beauty of the intricate movements seen in nature. They have also collaborated on a sculptural video art installation that will be on display at Lot 10 for this evening.

Jane Wang is Professor in the Sibley School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and the Department of Physics at Cornell University.
Werner Sun is Research Associate in Cornell’s Laboratory for Elementary-Particle Physics (LEPP).
